Your Brain (& Body) on Conflict

In this video-recorded workshop, you will explore how to deal with emotionally upset people using brain and body-based research.

  • Have you ever been unsuccessful at communicating with or calming an upset person?
  • Have you ever been at loss for words or effective strategies during a conflict?

This workshop uses basic principles of neuropsychology, somatic psychology, and mediation to present a model for understanding the behaviors of people who are emotionally upset.

You will also learn techniques to help you calm and connect with upset people (including yourself!).

Many of us have at least one “Difficult Conversation” that we are avoiding. And, we often dread having those conversations.

  • How would it be to have that Difficult Conversation and feel good about it?
  • What if, instead of fearing your difficult conversations, you could embrace them as opportunities to learn and grow?

This seminar offers insights and strategies for handling Difficult Conversations more effectively and with less stress.

You will explore and practice Brain, Body, Communication, and Mediation techniques for making Difficult Conversations less difficult.

You will also receive a step-by-step guideline for managing difficult conversations.

This workshop offers activities that help create insight into why people's behaviors seem difficult in the first place, plus it presents ways to remain calm, diffuse anger, and deal with strong personalities.

You will get to examine practical and useful communication and coping skills to deal with challenging behaviors from customers, employees, family members, neighbors, and door-to-door salespeople in a respectful and appropriate manner.

You will also explore, through various activities, how people's behaviors affect you personally, and how to minimize those effects.

For Conflict Resolution professionals: The skills in this course will help you handle clients with difficult behaviors and become more self-aware so you can stay neutral.

Become A Better Listener

One key skill for conflict resolution is listening. This workshop will help you refresh and hone your listening skills. During these challenging times, it is more important than ever to deeply listen to each other.

  • Do you know the difference between hearing someone and actually listening to them?
  • How can you deeply listen when the topic can be triggering?
  • Did you know that listening = love? ❤

Discover and practice deep listening techniques on how to increase understanding and reduce conflict in professional and personal relationships.

  • Approved for 2 hours CMEs (Continuing Mediator Education) by the Supreme Court of Virginia.
  • $40.

Practical Assertiveness

Say what you mean, mean what you say, and don't say it mean!

Assertiveness is one of the most important leadership skills.

And, it's a necessary skill in everyday life.

Assertiveness is an act of caring and respect for yourself AND the other person.

You will explore what's holding you back from being more assertive and some ways to deal with that.

You'll learn the nuances of speaking up in your own, authentic way that is in line with your style of communication, how to appropriately ask for what you want, and meet confrontations with confidence.

You will see assertiveness skills practiced and see a brief demo so you can ask for what you want, say “no”, still be kind, and become more successful in business and life.
